10 SEL Spring Resources

sel spring resources

Spring is such a fun time to focus on social emotional learning. Between weather, rainbows, and flowers, there are SO many fun themes to draw on. Here’s a simple round-up of some of my favorite SEL spring resources that are available in my TPT shop!

SEL Monthly Themes – April – Growth Mindset

This SEL activity is designed to teach and reinforce the concept of growth mindset with students through a rainy day theme! It’s perfect for any spring or during a unit studying weather. Students make a mini-book to learn more about growth mindset, and complete a craftivity book where they decide if a comment shows a growth or fixed mindset. There is also a fun pocket chart game!

SEL Monthly Themes – May – Celebrating Differences

This monthly theme pack is designed to teach and reinforce that differences are to be celebrated through a set of hands-on, seasonal activities that are flower themed. Students learn what it means to be different, and share what makes them different and unique with a flower craftivity. The pocket chart game is a really fun group connection-building activity, too!

Flower Affirmation Coloring Journal

Positive affirmations are proven by research to be such helpful tools to support student success and self-esteem. These affirmation coloring journals are the perfect SEL spring resources to bring affirmations into your classroom. Students can color in the pages and embrace the affirmation in a whole or small group, or individual activity.

Butterfly Affirmation Coloring Journal

Keep the positive self talk coming with these butterfly themed affirmation coloring journals! In my classroom we used a different coloring affirmation journal each month. These two can carry you through spring!

Weather Themed Coping Skills Bulletin Board Set

My former school required a new bulletin board every month, and it got really overwhelming! I created these seasonal bulletin boards to help ease the stress and keep them meaningful, too. This spring bulletin board activity focuses on goal setting and coping skills!

Women’s History Board Game

This women’s history board game includes 40 unique and diverse women to learn and reflect about. Using dice, game cards, and a reflective spinner, students can independently journal their responses while playing solo, or have reflective conversations with the other players. The first player to reach the end space wins! This is the perfect SEL spring resource to incorporate as March is Women’s History Month.

Women’s History Alphabet Line

This alphabet line is designed to create functional classroom decor that focuses on diverse Women’s History around the world with real photos and streamlined fonts. The variety of featured women are broad, and students (and likely teachers, too) will surely learn about figures from the news and history that they have not yet been exposed to. Your students can learn about a new inspiring woman every day of the month!

Women’s History Month Slides Bundle

This bundle of women’s history slides includes unique and diverse female athletes, artists, STEM leaders & world trailblazers to learn and reflect about. There are over 40 slides sharing facts about female athletes, artists, STEM leaders, & world trailblazers (Gracie Gold, Kizzmekia Corbett, Julia Child, Malala Yousafzai, and more). It comes in a PDF format so you can access the slides with or without internet access.

SEL Spring Resources & Tasks for Early Finishers

These pages were designed to offer students early finisher, brain break, de-escalation activities that don’t require more academic demands. Each page includes creative thinking, brain break activities to offer positive activities with a seasonal twist.

Build a Flower: Spring Break Check-In Craft

The resources in this craft activity are designed to create a fun way for students to reflect on their return to school after spring break through a flower themed glyph craftivity! Every student’s flower will look different and unique as their responses to reflective questions will determine what their flower will look like. This makes such a fun activity for easing back into school after a week off.
